Connect your software to Askara with our API

We chose to open our API so your tools can exchange data directly with Askara: patients, validated documents, clinical notes.

What you can do with the API

A single REST API to read and write practice data, with the practitioner's explicit consent.

Patients and referring doctors

Create, read and update patient records and the practice's referring doctors. A patient we already know is matched and updated rather than duplicated: no more double entry between your software and Askara.

Documents

As soon as a practitioner validates a document in Askara, your system retrieves the PDF then files it in the patient record. Either automatically, or only when the practitioner asks for it.

Read the synchronization guide

Clinical notes

Receive the note generated after a consultation, with its content, its date and the patient concerned, and write it straight into your own patient record.

Communicate with Askara in real time

Your software is notified the second a document or a note is ready.

Subscribe your HTTP endpoint to the events you care about: Askara calls it as soon as they happen.

No public URL to expose? Poll the API on a schedule instead, asking only for what has not been synchronized yet.

Not a developer?

This page describes a technical building block: it is addressed to your software vendor, not to you. In practice, the API is what makes the documents and notes produced in Askara show up on their own in the practice software, with no copy-paste and no double entry.

If your software is already connected to Askara, there is nothing for you to do. Otherwise, forward this page to your vendor or write to us: we take it from there with their technical team.

The patients, referring doctors, documents, notes, organizations and users of the practice that grants you access, and only within the scopes your application requested. Access relies on OAuth 2.0: the practitioner explicitly authorizes your application, and can withdraw that authorization.
In either of two ways. By webhook: you give us a URL and we call it as soon as a document is validated or a note is generated. Or by polling the API on a schedule, if you cannot expose a public URL.
